Humble Beginnings...

Ryan-Al Door Systems was founded in June, 2003 by President / CEO, Rick Trainor. It was founded on the premise of serving the housing industry with an alternative offshore supplier of entry doors. Rick’s experience as VP of Sales and Marketing in the hardware / housing industry afforded him with numerous valuable connections with both the suppliers and users in the entry door market. Thus, the adventure began.

For the first three years of the company’s existence, Ryan-Al had sourced steel door suppliers for both the manufactured housing industry as well as the shed door industry. During the same period, Ryan-Al was also commissioned to source a fiberglass entry door producer to provide to the single family housing sector.

In 2006, Ryan-Al incorporated into Ryan-Al, Inc. and made a substantial monetary investment with an offshore fiberglass door manufacturer. Ryan-Al, Inc. purchased the necessary equipment and provided the customer base to launch the company into the fiberglass entry market. However, as most ventures go when partnering with an offshore entity, too many differences in opinion occur as how to proceed with the business . As such, the partnership was dissolved in late 2007.

Ryan-Al, Inc. was convinced that the fiberglass entry door market was the way of the future vs the very competitive steel door market. Therefore, Ryan-Al, Inc. made another major capital investment and purchased all the necessary equipment to open its own fiberglass door making facility.

Shortly after opening its own fiberglass door making factory, the shed door industry was transitioning from steel or wood doors to fiberglass doors. With the benefit of having a long-time customer who is a distributor in the shed component part industry, we began providing fiberglass doors to the shed industry in mid-2008.

Without a comprehensive knowledge of the shed door industry, we just took what we knew from the housing entry door sector and applied this to the shed industry. Little did we know, there is very little, if no comparison between the two industries. We began making our doors in the same manner as any other fiberglass supplier- just cut down a housing entry door, apply some additional wood blocks and shazaam! You have a shed door. WRONG!

Up until early 2013, we were proceeding as normal with many failures and complaints about our product in the market. Then, in mid-2013, the magic began to happen. We incorporated a component part that is made in the USA and changed another integral component part that greatly enhanced the quality of our product. The bleeding didn’t completely stop but at least it slowed to a manageable pace.

During the next three years, we had changed our focus to make the fiberglass shed door as our core product. As such, we rebuilt all of our molds to make them proportionately and aesthetically correct. We discontinued cutting down, or modifying an entry door and try to pass it along as a shed door. When an entry door is cut down, the panels become out of proportion and makes the door aesthetically incorrect. As such, this process unnecessarily diminishes the overall value of shed. The final step was to sure up the structural integrity of our product as a shed door has to be much more durable than an entry door. We doubled the size of the majority of our inner frame system to be the most durable in the market.

The above mentioned changes to our product has set the stage as we are the most progressive and innovative shed door manufacturer. Also, it gives us the right to make the claim that we are the WORLDS ONLY shed door manufacturer as others are only modified housing door suppliers. With our educational and marketing programs and our new items, we are looking forward to the coming years
